Full-bleed galleries with no interface in the way
The problem
Most photography templates wrap the work in furniture: captions, borders, navigation, a logo in the corner. The photographs end up competing with the site that is supposed to be showing them.
The approach
Strip the interface back to almost nothing and spend the entire performance budget on getting large images to load fast, so the gallery never makes the viewer wait.
What I built
- Full-bleed gallery with smooth transitions between images
- Aggressive image optimization for large photographic files
- Near-zero chrome, so navigation stays out of the frame
